Mount Olympus at Wisconsin Dells: More Than Just a Myth
Mount Olympus just got reachable, even nearer than you think. The Gods have been gracious enough to give us mortals a taste of what it’s like to be in their home. And they just moved at a place that is just a plane ride away—or a car ride at that, if you plan to be adventurous and drive cross-country. Yes, Mount Olympus is now the home of the mortals in a 160 acre water and theme park at Wisconsin Dells.
The outdoors have always been a place dedicated to paying tribute to the Gods, and it sometimes serves as a battleground for mortals who wanted to please the god they pay homage to and challenge those who are loyal to the others. Because of this, Mount Olympus is a site where the outdoors is filled with the identity of the Gods. Here are just some of the outdoor perks that Mount Olympus has in store for everyone.
Because there is a need for gigantic space to accommodate the titans, there is an equally made area for each and every one of them. Outdoor theme attractions include roller coasters named after the most swift and strong beings from both heaven and the underworld: Zeus, Hades, Cyclops and Pegasus. Hades tops the speed category followed by Zeus, Cyclops then Pegasus. But speed is not only what makes them famous. This part of Mount Olympus also has daredevil dives that would test the hold of your stomach whenever you hang on for a fearsome drop.
Refusing to be outdone by the Gods, the mortals who have lived at their time made their mark as well. Try to chase Helen as she eloped with Paris in the fastest river ever. The River Troy will give you the ride of your life as you experience being one of the Greeks in their quest to recover the most beautiful maiden in the land. But that’s only a start. Wisconsin Dells is the territory of one of the greatest titans as well—Poseidon. Poseidon’s Rage will no doubt sweep you off your feet, literally. With waves up to 9 ft. tall, this is no place for a swim, but a hub for anyone with a surfboard or wakeboard. Family is also important to the Greeks, and even Gods recognize that. So for family bonding, Triton’s Fury was built to have the whole family experience the splash together. And of course the whole water experience will never be complete without a Tidal Wave. The humongous body of water is one of the largest in the Midwest and will never keep you dry.
