5 Most Extreme Sports
Just with all extreme sports there are risks. One of the major risks from the below list of extreme sports is death. So be sure safety is your number one precaution.
Cave Diving
This can be compared to regular diving. The twist is diving at high altitudes, freezing temperatures, and cramped quarters. Don’t forget the bears either. A lot of cave divers will actually dive into caves that have wild animals in them. This is a very dangerous sport and offers little or no protection to your body. It is a sink or swim sport, literally.
Base Jumpers
Base jumpers are said to have a death wish. They intentionally jump off buildings, out of planes, and other crazy situations with the intention of hurting themselves. It is a thrill for them to see how far the human body can be tested to the max and still walk away from it unharmed or alive anyway. What are the rules to base jumping? The only rule is , don’t die. Whoever walks away with no or few broken bones wins.
High Altitude Climbing
Climbing mountains and other high altitude destinations are becoming more popular by the minute. We have children as young as 12 taking on Mount Everest, with ease, and succeeding. Though high altitude climbing can be exhilarating, it can also be very dangerous. 1 out of 6 people that climb Mount Everest will die. That doesn’t include the high numbers of deaths from other high altitude sports.
Motor Cycle Racing
Motor cycle racing has evolved into something bigger than just driving down the road with the wind in your hair. There are now legal scheduled motorcycle races on a yearly basis. The Isle of Man TT is a race that has reported more than 220 injuries at every race that is held. Races consist of drivers jumping or riding over obstacles.
Cheerleading
Cheerleading is not a sport that people would see as extreme. They think of women jumping up and down with poufy pom-poms. This is actually incorrect. There are over 20,000 reported injuries yearly when it comes to cheerleading. This makes cheerleading one of the most injury prone sports in the United States. There are a lot of twists and turns in cheerleading and if spotters are not at the top of their game, it could spell disaster for everyone.
