What is the Process of Doing a Linksys Router SetUp?

Basically, the process of doing a Linksys Router Setup is to connect the router directly to your Internet modem in order for you to create your own wireless network (WI-FI). Linksys Router Setup is necessary is you have more than one computer unit at home that you need to connect to your high-speed Internet connection, and that the computers are far from your modem. Furthermore, using a router could help to improve your network connection, making it easy for you to connect several computers, such as your PC and laptop, or other devices that needs you to connect to the Internet.

Here are the Steps of doing a Linksys Router Setup:

1.      To start with the Linksys Router setup, plug-up your Linksys router to an available power outlet in your wall, but make sure not to connect the power plug right at the back of the router itself.

2.      Detach the modem from the power outlet.

3.      Get the Ethernet cable that comes with the Linksys router and connect the other end to the WAN port of the modem, while the other end of the cable must be connected to the Ethernet port of the router.

4.      Continue with your Linksys Router Setup by connecting another Ethernet cable from the route’s Ethernet Port going to the Ethernet of your computer.

5.      Next thing to do at this point is to connect the power plug to your modem, and then afterwards to your router.

6.      On your web browser, type in 192.168.1.1 and navigate.

7.      You will then be prompted to enter a username and a password. On the username field, enter “admin”, and enter the same on the password field.

8.      As soon as you are able to log-in, navigate to the “wireless” tab and then choose the option that says, “Basic wireless settings.”

9.      On the basic wireless settings, you will be asked to come up with a unique wireless network name. Enter the name that you have established for your wireless network. As much as possible, avoid using the default name of “Linksys”.

10. The last part of the Linksys Router setup is to enter a password on the “wireless security” tab. Make sure that you can easily remember the password so it would be easy for you to connect to your wireless network.
