Lose Weight while still a Teen: What they are missing while trying to Lose Weight
“Lose weight to look good”. This is the latest fad with all teens these days. Nonetheless, in order to lose weight, they often make errors and end up in a soup. A recent study revealed that 14% of all students in Philadelphia were overweight. Nonetheless, almost three quarters of them who were trying to shed their body fat, were doing it the wrong way.
As per the report of Clare Lenhart, a Temple University researcher, over 43,753 students could be categorized as those who were trying to lose weight in a risky manner. In a recent study, 5,994 students were studied, of which over 76% were found trying to lose weight. Nonetheless, the fact which shocked the researchers was that nearly 40% of those who wished to lose weight were more prone to smoke cigarettes as compared to those who did not wish to lose weight. Besides, while 40% of all obese girls were eager to exercise for over an hour each day, they were also prone to drink sugar laden soda three times more than normal girls.
As per Lenhart, “While obese students do wish to lose weight and regain their healthy bodies, the fact remains that their behavioral patterns are shocking and not at all conducive to what is considered normal. For a starter, obese girls who exercise may not be aware that a glass of sweetened soda would be equivalent to their exercising vigorously for 30 minutes.” Apparently, the need of the hour is to educate teens about how to lose weight the healthy way and ensure that they are not playing with their bodies and causing harm to themselves.
An inclusion of a suitable weight loss diet is also considered to be an effective means of ensuring that teens are able to shed those extra calories at warp speed while maintaining their health at all times. Besides, they should be taught the healthy way of exercising on a regular basis.
