Buyers Camp out as New Apple Iphone goes on sale
About 200 people waited in line at the Apple's fifth avenue store in Manhatten as the Apple iPhone 4s went on sale at 8:00 am this morning. The faster Apple iPhone has better and improved camera went on sale in seven countries Friday morning. Hundreds of buyers camped out to be the first to get the new Apple iPhone.
Many people came out even though they could've ordered the phone online. They could've had the phones shipped directly to thier homes. Many said the event was a rememberence to Steve Jobs, who passed away last week, a day after Apple announced the new phone. Apple and phone companies began to take orders last Friday for the new Apple iPhone 4s. Apple said Monday that more than a million orders have been placed, breaking the record of last year's model.
The base model of the Apple iPhone 4s cost $199 in the United States, with a 2 year contract. It comes with a 16 gigabytes of storage. Customers can get a 32 gigabytes for $299 or 64 gigabytes for $399. Customers will also have the choice of color of black or white.
The new phone will be coming to 22 countries by the end of the month.
