Health Insurance : Importance Of Health Insurance And Why It's Must
In 2010 approximately 16.3% of the US population was without health insurance compared to the year 2010 which had a percentage of 16.1% insured. The only increase was the people covered by government health insurance which saw a slight jump from 30.6% in 2009 to 31% in 2010.
For those of you that are unfamiliar with the whole aspect of health insurance here’s a quick rundown for you. Health Insurance is insurance against the risk of accumulating medical expenses among persons. By calculating the overall risk of health care expenses, an insurer can decide on a finance structure where they pay a monthly premium or create a payroll tax to ensure that there is money to pay for the health care benefits set out in the insurance agreement
Now with all this being said a health insurance policy is a contract between an insurance provider and the individual or his sponsor. You as the insured can renew the contract monthly or annually if you choose.
For those opposed to health insurance, I urge you to reconsider as there are several reasons why this is important. Having health insurance will ensure that certain costs will be taken care of. That is, depending on the plan that you have then if you were to end up in the hospital part of your medical expenses will be partially covered. You can use your health insurance to get certain over the counter drugs for usage. So before you make anymore rash decisions about not having an insurance coverage, think of what it may mean for you.
