Google Starts its Call Centre in Hyderabad
Google is expanding its operations in India. Last week, it announced to recruit 300 engineers in the country. Now, it has opened a call-center at Hyderabad.
With an aim to acquire more customers in India, Google has opened the call center to deal with small and medium sized businesses.
The launch of the new call center would help Google in offering support in four different Indian languages, including Kannada, Tamil, Telgu and Malayalam. The service has been especially started for promoting AdWords platform.
The new call center will manage both inbound and out bound calls to help the SMEs in learning the tactics of managing their online advertising campaigns. It will also help the customers in growing their business.
Setting up the new call center has led Google in providing support in six Indian languages, including the native language of the nation Hindi and global language English.
At the opening of the call center, Head, Online Sales, Google India, Sridhar Seshadri said India has over 35 million SMBs. This makes it a strategic market for Google. He said the call center was set up to give wings to the efforts of the company to teach Indian SMBs how to make money from Internet advertising.
He further added the self service model designed by the company experienced instant acceptance in the technically-advanced Indian businesses.
Online sales head also accepted SMBs in India will take some time to get started.
Google is starting initiatives, such as Google Engage. As a part of the program, the company would invite the companies for one-to-one training. The companies need to get themselves registered for the program.
Shridhar said the program was developed to help the businesses and individuals engaged in web-related services. The companies registering will be gifted readymade promotional material along with education material and free online trainings.
