iPad Gives a New Life to Physically Disabled Child
iPad has changed the course of life of Owen Cain who depends upon a respirator and has motor-neuron disease since birth.
Aged 7, Owen can’t move on his own. However, when he saw Apple iPad for the first time, he showed something none of his near dear ones could believe.
Pointing his finger towards an app icon on the iPad touch screen, he played Gravitarium. It is an app which plays music while the user creates sceneries and landscapes of stars on the tab screen.
It came as a pleasant surprise for Owen’s parents who have had been trying various modes of computerized communication. But, it was iPad that gave them success.
Expressing her happiness over Owen’s recovery, his mother Ellen Goldstein said now as their efforts to keep him alive have succeeded, they are looking forward to explore new things for their son. Goldstein is a VP at the Times Square Alliance business association.
Launched in April, iPad has become a new healing tool for individuals with various disabilities. However, no documented record of its effectiveness has been maintained, but it seems this tablet is doing wonders for lot many people.
