Acai Berry’s Nutritional Properties Doubted by Dietitians
Acai berry, which is supposed to be one of the best fruits with magical nutritional and medicinal properties, is not as effective as it is portrayed to be. Leading dietitians have expressed doubts over the properties of acai berry.
Let us tell you that most of the claims related to acai berry have not yet been clinically proved. Ohio based dietitian, Amber Wilson is one amongst those unsatisfied registered nutritional experts who feel that acai berry is not as effective as it is supposed to be.
She said that though this berry has high anti-oxidant properties, she would not recommend her clients to depend solely upon this fruit. Instead, she said that one should include various types of fruits and vegetables to get more antioxidants and nutrients.
She further said that no single fruit or vegetable or food item can provide you all nutrients. Wilson does not claim that acai helps you in reducing weight by increasing your body metabolism.
She agreed that it has high nutritional value, including various vitamins, fiber and fats.
Another dietitian, Wendy Albovias, who practices in Oakland, approved of the views that Wilson has for acai and said that for fat-loss and anti-aging, one food item can never be enough.
When she was specifically asked to make a choice amongst the acai products, she said that any fruit in its natural form is always better than powder or pills.
