Microsoft has Winner with its Windows 7 OS
Vista was more maligned then touted, but Windows 7 seems to have achieved the opposite.
A report done by the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) showed that customer satisfaction among those who operate personal computers is high, which bodes well for Microsoft, as its OS in the past have often been much maligned—case in point--Vista.
According to the ACSI's 0-to-100 scale, a huge jump in consumer satisfaction with Windows based PCs went from 4 percent to 78 percent, and Windows 7 seems to be the reason for the steady incline over the past year.
No one could be more happy with the ACSI’s report than the leading Windows PC makers such as Dell, Acer and Hewlett Packard. Each manufacturer has noted an increase in sells and are no doubt thanking Windows 7 for the upsurge in consumer confidence for the Windows brand once again.
Now that Microsoft, after a year, has the positive feedback it has been looking for in an OS is perhaps the impetus for the company’s plan to roll out a new Windows Phone 7 Series operating system.
It is no secret that Microsoft has been lacking in the world of mobile phone products. After competitors devices such as BlackBerry, Apple iPhones and Google’s Android smart phones, Windows Mobile devices were put onto the back burner by consumers, preferring the competitor’s offerings instead that proved more capable of delivering to the consumer what he or she had been looking for in a mobile device.
But the new Windows Phone 7 Series operating system is already being rumored to have a whole new interface along with Microsoft staples such as Internet Explorer mobile with HTML5 and Adobe Flash support. Other features will include Office mobile, which will no doubt appeal to the business man or woman who needs to write a report on the fly.
There will be advanced gaming capabilities for the business person who wants to take a break from writing those reports, with mobile versions of Xbox titles. Windows Phone 7 Series is even offering mobile Xbox Live support so gamers can view other people’s scores and send messages.
Windows Phone 7 smart phone will be on the market some time in October. An exact date has yet to be determined. High Tech Computer (HTC) Corporation will release Windows Phone 7 powered devices, but potential customers from the U.S. and Canada may have to wait a month after the October launch before the Windows Phone 7 will be offered in their area.
