Thomas C. Butler Causes Miami International Airport Scare
The doctor told the authorities that he obtained the object in England and was to use it in his research.
At the airport, the suspicious item raised fears that it was a bomb or a weapon that could have been used against the people in the airport. Thomas C Butler was arrested and quickly taken in police custody where he was questioned thoroughly. The metal canister found on his bags is similar to those used to store nerve gas or anthrax and other biological weapons and germs.
The doctor has a history with the authorities. In 2003, Doctor Thomas C Butler was convicted on several federal charges. Federal prosecutors provided evidence on Doctor Butler’s illegal activities, which included shipping plague bacteria vials and improper shipping of plague to Tanzania in Africa.
No charges were preferred against him, though authorities are yet to verify the contents of the canister that roused fears in the Miami International Airport. The scare saw the airport evacuated and federal authorities arrest Doctor Thomas Butler. The bad books with authorities have made the doctor a big name across the media today after the bad publicity he got and his plague shipment activities.
