Apple Sells 1.7 Million iPhone's in 3 days
The iPhone 4 has been one of the most talked about phone devices in recent months and its release last week was welcomed with uproar as reception problems plagued iPhone lovers enjoyment of their favourite device.
The Chief Executive Officer of Apple sent out a press release which outlined the fact that they had managed to sell such a staggering amount in just 3 days. He lamented, stating that he was sorry for all the customers who had to be turned away due to the fact that they were out of stock. Apple went on to state in the press release that the iPhone 4 was actually the most successful product launch in the history of Apple.
Financial experts were predicting that on the first day of sales, the iPhone would have sold just over a million devices. However although it is obvious that on the day iPhones were released there was a virtual stampede to purchase one, Apple have not yet disclosed the figures for June 24th which was the day of the iPhone launch.
The Cupertino company have only stated that 1.7 million have already been shifted, however it would be interesting to know how many of those were sold on the first day, and if the so called antenna problems effected the sales after the 24th.
Apple has had an impressive record so far with its products but the iPhone 4 beats all of their most recent releases. For example, take a look at the sales figures for the highly publicised iPad, it took them 28 days to sell just over 1 million devices. With the all the publicity it was still seen as a success in terms of sales. To get to a figure of 2 million sales it took just about 59 days, which is still a relative success. If those figures are now compared to the sales figures of the iPhone 4 it is obvious that the iPhone pips the iPad to the post.
Many iPhone lovers have stated on Twitter that, the fact that Apple have sold this many iPhones in such a short space of time, does not mean that the antenna problem has been forgotten. The press release that was sent out today, mentioned nothing about the issues with their latest device, and instead just focused on the sales figures. Some Technology pundits have put forward the notion that this may have just been a way of showing that the iPhone is still loved , as they managed to sell that many despite a small hiccup. The message to Steve Jobs from iPhone fans was that he needs to put the problem first, they are not interested in sales figures.
Maybe the fake Steve Jobs who tweeted a bogus message that the iPhone 4 was going to be recalled should have tried to influence the real Steve Jobs to actually take action instead of quoting sales figures.
