Sweden Princess Victoria had a Fairytale Wedding
The Queen herself bestowed the title “Prince Daniel, Duke of Vaestergoetland” to Daniel. It is an honor and particularly special title and is not usually given to a commoner. Daniel Westling is thirty six of age and is from Ockelbo, a part of Northern Stockholm Sweden. Historians claim that he is perfect for the Princess because people from the North are like “solid rocks” and that’s exactly what a princess needs someone solid that she trusts.
The event was attended by 1,200 guests and Royal families from all over the globe. Prince Edward of United Kingdom represented their Royal family and came with his wife Sophie, the Countess of Wessex. Prince Henrick of Denmark and his wife Margarette II are also in attendance as well as Prince Felipe and his wife Princess Letizia from Spain.
The event was held on the same day and the same Cathedral where The King Carl XVI Gustaf has married a commoner, now Queen Silvia, thirty four years ago, on 1976. This marriage is the first Royal wedding help in Sweden after the King’s marriage.
The Princess and her fiance came from the Cathedral walked down from the main entrance with gantlet of crossed swords, where a horse-drawn carriage awaits, and the town, composed of thousands of people, cheering. It was marriage that you see on fairytales.
The carriage took them to Stockholm's harbor, where they boarded a gilt longboat driven by 18 naval oarsmen. The couple stood on the back of the boat waving to sailors saluting from ships and a submarine as they made their way across the harbor. The horse-drawn carriage drove them down the harbor, where a longboat being pulled by 18 oarsmen took them on parade, the Princess, and her husband waving, and saluting the sailors. While on the sky, there are sixteen fighter jets are performing a flyby as the boat takes the couple to the Royal palace.
In the evening, a Royal banquet was held at the Royal palace and was hosted by the King and the Queen themselves.
Princess Victoria is the eldest daughter of King Gustaf to her wife Queen Silvia, she has two siblings Prince Carl Philip and Princess Madeline. The couple has been dating since 2002 and has announced their engagement in 2009. Princess Victoria is the crowned heir to the throne making his husband the next King of Sweden. The change of status was made in 1980 when the Act of Succession 1810 passed which makes the eldest child of the King without gender specification be the successor to the throne. This made Crowned Princess Victoria the first female in line of succession and the first heiress to Sweden’s throne.
