Designing ground floor plans for new homes
Buying a new home is not the most exciting part—designing and planning what to put in it and how to maximize and decorate the empty space is. Most of the time, people think that floor plans are complicated to do and should be left in the hands of the engineer, the architect or the interior designer. But what you should know is that the first idea how to get things done should come from you. The owner of the house knows exactly what he or she wants to see everytime he or she comes home so his or her floor plan should be put into utmost consideration.
Ground floor plans usually consist or made up of the following general areas: the living room, the kitchen, the dining area, the entertainment section of the house, the deck (if the house design comes with it), and the common bathroom or washroom. Additional spaces (for big houses with wide floor areas) include the following: an exercise room or gym, a mini-library, a playpen or play area for the kids (if the owner of the house is a starting family), and a pool or billiards area. You can also add a bar or a mini-section for liquor and alcoholic beverages.
Designing and creating ground floor plans for new homes is not as tough as you think as long as you know what to put in that empty space. Also, knowing in full detail the floor area and its dimensions will make the job easy to accomplish. Selecting the furniture and fixtures in every spot you have in mind for your home will be narrowed down if you know the measurements.
Lastly and most importantly, the comfort of your home is the top priority. If your floor plan can only fit in or accommodate just enough furniture, then think of ways to put in everything you need without crowding the area. While an empty space is boring, very little space can also make anyone feel trapped. Having the ground floor plan set to be just right will make the new home a palace and something that will encourage you to come home to it everyday.
