Five Reasons to Redecorate Your House
Over 1 million dollars are spent each year on redecorating alone. This includes inside and outside structures.
If you are thinking of selling your home or just want a change of pace and view, redecorating might be worth the money. Here are some reasons why you should at least consider redecorating your home.
Gain Value
93,000 houses were sold in 2009. That is a rate of 50% more than 2008. With the economy turning around and people buying real estate again, redecorating is a must. Even redecorating the inside of your home can raise the value of your house tremendously. A little bit of paint, new appliances, and new fixtures and you could be selling your house for triple the price.
Change of View
We all need a change. Traveling is nice, but nobody wants to constantly repurchase a new house due to boredom with the old one. That would be one big headache in itself. If you own a home and want a different view than try a new coat of paint, swap out the old appliances for new ones, or put new cabinetry in. Try doing a new theme also. Don’t overwhelm yourself and try to do every room in the house at once. Take steps and work from one room to the next. Take your time with it.
Build Equity
Equity is the interest over time that is built and accumulated. This is because the longer you pay on your mortgage the more equity you have. If you keep updating your house, inside and out, you will most likely want to stay there. Therefore you will be forced to make the payments on the house. This in turn will build equity on your house.
Fewer Problems
If you redecorate your home at least once every three months then there is a higher chance of fewer problems. In order to keep up maintenance and prevent damaging to the houses structure and to the appliances, it is important to redecorate. This doesn’t mean just painting. It means replacing installation, floorboards, rugs, replacing new cabinets and other items.
Boredom
The last reason to redecorate is to pass the time if you get bored. It is a perfect project to keep in mind during the summer and fall months. Warm weather and busy hands will keep you from going crazy. Summer time is the most popular time to do home renovations. It is not just for the carpenters. It is for the homeowners also.
