To get the most bangs for your buck it is important to know basic coupon information. Contrary to what people believe it is more than just clipping coupons and going to the store.
Know Where to Look
The days of clipping coupons out of newspapers are long gone. Today you can now visit www.coupons.com and pick and choose the coupons you need. Then from the comfort of your own home you can print them off. Although, look at magazines, newspapers, coupon booklets and anything else that might come along.
When to Use Them?
Coupons can be used at any grocery store that will accept coupons. Ninety percent or more main grocers accept coupons. Let the cashier know ahead of time that you have coupons. Let him or her scan each item first and then give the cashier your coupons to scan at the end. Then watch and see the price dramatically drop.
Take Advantages of Sales
If you see buy one get one free or get one-half off sales, then take advantage of those, too. Work your meals and snack entrées around the coupon itself. This will save you time and hassle trying to find out what you are going to eat. Sales are the best time to stock up on items. This will save you from having to buy extra down the road in the near future.
Read the Labeling
Don’t look at the picture on the coupon. It is important to read the label. Sometimes the coupon will have a different version of what you can actually get with your coupon. Check for brands, sizes, and quantities as well.
One Time Deal
Coupons are normally one time deals. So after you use them the cashier will either keep them or you must throw them out. A lot of people think that they can use a particular coupon throughout that month, but unfortunately they cannot. That is if it isn’t specified. Reusable coupons will say on the front.
Don’t be ashamed for using coupons. In the past, and sometimes in the present today, it is seen as a poor person’s ethic to saving money. There is nothing shameful about saving money. You are shopping smart and you will be surprised at how much you can lower your grocery bill to.
