What to Bring With You to Delivery
Will you need items for the baby as well? Worry and stress is one less thing you need to think about, while you’re on your way out the door to delivery. Here is a list of items that may come in handy.
Pack your bag ahead of time. If you wait until the last minute you could miss crucial information and items that you might need. One it is packed put it in the trunk of your car. That way if you have to leave in a hurry you can.
The first item to pack in your bag is a set of comfy clothes. Buy a pair of scrubs and loose t-shirt. No one is going to worry if you look beautiful or not and you won’t be able to fit into your regular clothes for at least six weeks anyway. Pack comfy underwear, slippers, socks, and clothes.
The second thing you will want to pack is bathroom essentials. You can purchase small travel toothpaste, brushes, toothbrushes and mouthwash at your local drug store, for less than a $1. They have different varieties and flavors you can choose from. They may even have a travel bag for $5 that you can store your bathroom essentials in. The hospital will have shampoos and conditioners available. If you would feel more comfortable with yours, then buy a separate brand. One set for the house and a second one for the hospital.
The third item to pack is things to do. If you are going to be in the hospital for 3 days or up to a week, TV can get pretty boring after awhile. Pack books, laptop, or writing utensils. If you are a college student than make sure to pack any homework or reading material you might need. This will keep you caught up on classes and keep you from pulling your hair out from boredom.
The last item you will want to bring is a camera and batteries. You will want to take pictures of your favorite day and newborn baby. This option might be good if you want to take your own professional photos. Photos at the hospital can cost up to $20 for one 8x10 photo of your baby. It is cheaper to actually take your own. With the right camera and good lighting no one will know the difference.
Remember to enjoy this special day. Enjoy it with your family and friends. It will be something you cherish forever.
