Bridal Consultant or Not?
They will ask you questions about colour schemes and preferred venues etc. and you will simply answer their queries and let them get on with the job you have paid them to do. However, a lot of people are now opting to plan their wedding entirely on their own, just having family and friends to help them, and saving on a big cost that is the wedding planner/bridal consultant! Of course, these people can help in a great many ways; they can reduce the stresses of your big day and you may be able to find one that will do everything exactly as you wish and get everything 100% perfect for you. Although, there are good points and bad points to weigh up when making your decision.
There are many advantages of hiring a bridal consultant to help you to plan your big day. For instance, these people quite often have relationships and/or at least a good knowledge of some good local venues. This means they will be able to provide you with some rough pricing and previous reviews prior to you ever actually speaking to the company themselves. This will save a lot of time in the long run, something that as the date draws in, you will most certainly feel that you are running out of! The major downside to having a wedding planner or bridal consultant is the lack of involvement that you have in your big day. Many people have described it as similar to being invited to a party and having no idea what it will be like until you get there! While a lot of people are happy to leave everything up to someone else to handle, most of us like to know we arranged specific things and when they will be arriving and talk to the suppliers ourselves etc.
The cost of the actual bridal consultant you opt for is also often a very large cost and on top of everything else, is simply something that not everyone can afford. Whether you want to take complete control of your wedding and not use a planner is entirely up to you, however you must realise that retaining all control also means retaining all of the stress leading up to your big day!
