Benefits for Going Back to School
College is a time of discovery, finding yourself, maturing and learning about what you love and what type of person you are. New friendships are created, old ones are lost, and new loves are found.
If you are sick of living from paycheck to paycheck, making minimum wage and working junk jobs, than enrich your life by going back to school. With a degree you will have the added benefit in the working world. You’ll be able to get that good paying job and have the pride of having a career and not just a job.
Being a student and attending college can help you get bigger tax breaks in your yearly tax refund. When you are out shopping for anything consisting of school supplies, make sure to buy those in a separate transaction. Keep the receipts for tax time. You may qualify for a partial or full refund on all items that you buy.
If you are a mother then now is the perfect time to go back to school. Thanks to Obama there are a multiple number of scholarships and grants that you can receive. Some Pell grants or other scholarships you may not even have to pay back. For an associate’s degree on any subject, mothers can receive a numerous amounts of grants that will significantly decrease the amount of money owed at the end of the two years. Instead of paying $40,000 in financial aid debt, you might only owe $20,000.
With a proper degree there are no limits to what you can do. You will be held to higher standards in a job interview when future employers look at you. Employers like to see that people want to better themselves and want to continue with school.
With a degree you may be able to line up a job before you graduate from college. Employers may do this if they see you are three months or less away from graduation. That will save you the time and worry about finding a job in your field.
Consider all of your options when you are thinking of going back to school. Take a few months or a year and look over colleges and campuses. Set up a time to visit campuses to see what they offer and how they differ from other colleges. Ask about living expenses, rules and regulations. Find the perfect college that fits your lifestyle and budget.
